About Author
I was born in East Kent in 1966 and wanted to become a writer for as long as I can remember. At Cambridge University I studied Chinese and Philosophy. I have always written since then, but took a long detour - working as a bookseller, painter, therapist, researcher for film and TV - before moving into screenplay development and writing. A lifelong interest in the arts and culture of China and Japan has influenced much of my work, as has my fascination with performance, street art and new circus.
My first book for children Mysterium: The Black Dragon, was published in July 2013. Books 2 and 3 of the trilogy to follow. The first fruit of a collaboration with my brother Marcus - a graphic novel called Dark Satanic Mills - published in November.
I live in the fens with my wife and two sons, waiting for it to get cold enough to go Fen skating...
