Hotel Flamingo: Fabulous Feast

Hotel Flamingo: Fabulous Feast

Alex Milway
Piccadilly Press
ISBN: 9781848128392

This is a story about lots of different animals and their life at Hotel Flamingo. Anna works alongside lots of different animals on Animal Boulevard; they spend their time trying to come up with a plan to get the hotel busier again after the long winter. Luckily for them, Madame Le Pig (the hotel chef) comes up with a fantastic feast to save the day.

The book starts with a lovely illustrated map of Animal Boulevard showing where Hotel Flamingo is compared to the other residences. With such a mixture of characters with weird and wonderful names, children are bound to be drawn into the story.

It has 20 chapters with relatively large text so it is the perfect length for young readers to start to build their stamina and fluency with longer texts. The story is also scattered with illustrations of the interesting characters which will help children to further build a picture of the story in their minds. There are also 20 bumble bees throughout the story for children to spot which is a nice extra twist.
