Funny Kid- Stand Up

This laugh out loud children's novel is bound to crack you up the second it is within your reach! Funny Kid- Stand Up is an intriguing book, welcoming the life of Max Walburt, the average eleven year old, but with a combination of sides to him. For example, he tells the funniest jokes, [well, at least he thinks he does], is a loving brother [sometimes], and is a great best friend. So, when the Redhill Talent Quest comes into town, Max automatically signs up, ready to go. But when Tumbles the Clown thinks it would be an excellent idea to go ahead and ruin his whole act, Max doesn't like not having his say! What's even stranger, is that Max spots Tumbles hiding in a bush near the care home that his old Grandpa had mysteriously disappeared from that exact day. With the help of his temporary best friend, and life coach, Hugo, will Max solve the mystery of his Grandad's whereabouts, and be funny enough to win the talent contest? Read the book to find out! I really enjoyed this story as it brings a sense of humour into the world of books, therefore making it more interesting, because it keeps you laughing page after page. I would recommend Funny Kid to all eager readers, but especially aged 7 to 10 years. Hopefully, after reading this novel, you would love to read the next two books in the series; so watch out for....Funny Kid-For President and Funny Kid-Prank Wars.

This loving story twists and turns throughout the book, every page a whirl of reality. A kind, caring Greek family, who eagerly carry out tradition over many years, face a series of challenging moments when an unexpected death occurs to a loved one. I really enjoyed this story line, which included laugh out loud diary entries, flabbergasting moments, but most important of all...friendship.

Rose's Dress of Dreams

The moral of the story is keep on trying even when things are hard, Rose didn't give up on her dream. I liked the coloured pictures and small amount of writing on each page. There is lots of alliteration in the book like 'silver sparkles like the moonlight' and 'gold glitters like treasure'. It was easy to read.
