Branford Boase Award longlist announced

The longlist for the Branford Boase Award, which recognises debut writers and their editors, has been announced and includes Costa winner Jasbinder Bilan, Sharna Jacksons bestseller High-Rise Mystery and books from independent presses Everything with Words, Firefly Press and Floris Books.


The award highlights new writers as ones to watch, with previous winners and shortlisted authors having included Frances Hardinge, Meg Rosoff, MG Leonard and Siobhan Dowd.

The shortlist for the Award will be announced on Thursday 30th April 2020 and the winner will be announced on 1st July at a ceremony in London.

The Henrietta Branford Writing Competition, the annual competition for young people which runs in conjunction with the Branford Boase Award, is also open.
