This series of books is designed to remind younger readers that it's okay not to be okay. Entitled It's OK to Need a Friend and It's OK to Make Mistakes, they are a basic introduction to developing resilience skills.

The main character is a friendly brown bear who gets help from all his woodland friends when he needs it. The style of illustration and text is reminiscent of the Miffy books, in that the story is told in short, simple sentences and the pictures feel very Scandinavian.

These are ideal for bringing out to read when there has been an upset about getting something wrong or a falling out with friends, as they gently remind children that these experiences are all part of growing up and can easily be fixed. As the books themselves are physically quite small, they are probably best used one to one, rather than sharing with a group or class.
