Set in the familiar environment of a school with a variety of characters, you are certain to be able to relate to some of the characters. You will end up looking around the school and find yourself thinking, ooh, they could be Lenny…

When an important visitor turns up at school one day, Lenny and his friends are surprised to find themselves sent to the back field to count the footballs and tidy up the bibs. The school dog, Crumbs, has been sent there too. He's quite a lively dog and prone to over-enthusiasm. Suddenly they realise it's all a ruse to keep them away from the guest! Furious, and not a little hurt, our heroes rush into school, demanding answers and an apology. When Crumbs, the school therapy dog, then goes on a rampage in the staffroom, Lenny and his friends try to help. As a result, the school Is nearly shut down and the teachers’ supply of cream buns cut off. What will they do? Can they make things right again?

This is the second book in the hilarious Lenny Lemmon school-based comedy series for young chapter book readers, with black and white illustrations throughout. Ben Davis and James Lancett make the perfect pairing for this fast-moving comical text. It has left me wanting to read more of their work and I know that it will have the same effect on the young readers that I work with.
