Linda Buckley-Archer

About Author

Linda Buckley-Archer was born in Sussex but spent most of her childhood in rural Staffordshire, in a small village close to Litchfield which features in the novel. Linda was an avid reader and adored C. S. Lewis, Rosemary Sutcliffe and Usual Le Guin. She is a confirmed Francophile, having lived in France and studied for an MA in 20th century French literature. The idea for the book came to her whilst listening to the historian Lucy Moore, an expert in 18th century criminality. The London she described, of footpads, prancers, plumpers and cutpurses, set Linda's imagination alight and by the end of that afternoon she had the story mapped out in her head. As the story developed, Linda became more and more interested in the Science behind time travel and will continue to develop this theme in subsequent volumes. She has called this an anti-time travel novel.

She now lives in South West London with her two children and husband
